- London is a fantastic city, with so much to do and see. It's foreign and it's accessible, making it a great starting point for international visits for kids. In fact, it's a great place to bring both your family and your cameras. If you're planning to come to London, here are some things that you should remember. First, London's not cheap, but there are good ways to control your cost and still have a good time. Rent a flat, choose your location well, and learn all the ins and outs of eating economically. The public transport here is phenomenal. Buy the unlimited week of travel on the prepaid card and be done with it, but don't forget the buses, as they are easy and useful too, both as transportation and as a platform for street photography. The River Thames is the lifeline of the city, and the area around it is a wonderful place to explore and photograph. Don't try to capture the whole city in a week.
