- Hi. My name is Brent Winebrenner, and welcome to Lighting for Photographers: Flash Exposure Fundamentals. The purpose of this course is to demystify flash exposure and build a foundation for using strobes in manual mode. We're gonna talk about the four exposure variables, and how they fit together in a beautifully integrated system. Then we'll dissect the variables that affect flash exposure. We'll discuss how to use our guide number to make exposure calculations, and I'll describe how these pieces fit together to create beautifully exposed images.
Finally I'll light some scenes using speed lights in a real shoot scenario. I'll be using multiple variables in these shoots, but we'll always base our changes on the foundations that we established in the first chapters.
