- When traveling, we're always trying to balance our time spent as a photographer with that of being a tourist. So anytime you can tick two boxes at once, you should probably go for it. One of my favorite places to please both the inner tourist and the inner photographer on a trip to Paris, is an evening visit to Sacre Coeur, which sits on a hill in Montmartre overlooking Paris. To get there, you're gonna take the number 12 green line to Abbesses or the number 2 blue line to Anvers. Sacre Coeur is a short walk from either station, but fair warning, most of that walk is gonna be up. No worries, if you don't want the exercise of a couple of hundred stairs, you can take the funicular, which is a very steep inclined train for the price of a Metro ticket. The basilica of Sacre Coeur is a visit that has something for everyone. The basilica itself is a quiet refuge and bear in mind, there is no photography allowed inside the building.
