- We spent an afternoon slash evening visiting Abu Dhabi in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. It's about an hour away, and cost us $125 to rent a private car and driver to drive us there, wait while we visited and photographed, and then bring us back to Dubai. We were on the Abu Dhabi end of Dubai, so it may cost a little more from your end if you're in the middle or so. In terms of pure, architectural stopping power, this place is a photographic dream. It's hard to take a bad picture here. There were literally thousands of photos to be made. Make sure you bring the widest lens you have with you, or you'll wish you did. I brought a Fuji XT1 and a 10 to 24 F4 zoom and that's the lens I used the entire time. It's equivalent to a 15 to 36 on a full frame camera, and I was still a little pinched. It's a big place and there are a lot of repeating lines, and that's gonna be the theme of the day. I'm especially gonna recommend shooting here through mixed light. It's beautiful and impressive…
