Carry a pocket portfolio and give a print

Alright, here's a great tip for people who are traveling and need a little extra help meeting people on the road. A friend of mine, Brandon Downey, who I traveled to Cuba with, brings a little photo album of four by six prints, and it's stuff that really resonates with who he is as a photographer. It's where he lives. He shows pictures from San Francisco. So, I've started showing pictures from, you know, my other travels, and being around the world and, and at home, and all these places, and that allows me nice conversation points for people when I meet them, and it also allows me a small token of my appreciation for them having given me their time and allowed me to have a portrait. So, especially if you're shy, it's a great way to help meet people and to give them something as a leave-behind when you're done, and give them a print. You can even sign it, and that's kind of nice, too. But just a quick tip to help you meet people when you're on the road.
