The tool palette and property bar

- Painter's tool palette and property bar are essentially two sides of the same coin. The tool palette enables quick selection of key functions. The property bar reflects the current tool selection by providing extended control over the selected tool. Let's take a look at Painter's approach to this functionality access. Now if you use Photoshop you'll be familiar with this type of arrangement. It works very similar. We have the tool palette here, and you'll notice each time I select a new tool the property bar up at the top changes. And what it's changing to are various commands and tools that are associated with the tool you've now selected. So, whenever you're in a tool one of the first place you want to look at for adjustment is going to be up in the property bar. And these have been selected in such a way that most of these are the most used types of controls that you are going to use when you're working with a brush.
