Tailoring brush response with spacing

- [Instructor] With a few exceptions, most of Painter's brushes perform a visual illusion in which a single element, the brush dab, creates the appearance of a continuous stroke. This is accomplished by overlapping the dabs so closely together that the resulting series of marks appears to be a single stroke. In this video, we'll look at how to adjust dab spacing to find what I refer to as the performance sweet spot. Now let's get started. So, when we draw with the brush, and by the way I'm using the Flat Color brush in this particular movie. And, this is, of all the brushes in Painter, this is the dumbest, simplest brush there is. It's just a very simple brush. Brushes like this go all the way back to the dawn of digital painting. Just a single, round stroke. And when we paint with it, well it looks like we're drawing with a continuous stroke. However, if we go in and look at the spacing here, it's very close together.
