Paint to your skill level
Increasing our skill level in a particular endeavor is something we all strive for. When it comes to painting, it's easy to compare our skills against those of others. We look at a well done painting and we wish that we were that good. What often happens is there is a gap between what we mentally visualize in our mind's eye and our ability to accurately render it in physical form. This can often escalate into a dog chasing its own tail cycle that can be hard to break. So what's the solution? I got five words for you. Painting to your skill level. So I'm just going to draw here a little bit. I'll try that vase that we were doing earlier, and I want you to notice I'm going to make some mistakes in here and I'm not even doing them on purpose, it happens all too often.
