Fading the background for readability
- [Instructor] With the text now in place, it appears that the background beneath the text is a bit distracting, and inhabiting the readability. We can fix this by using a transparent white gradation, and that's what we're going to do in this movie. Let's get started. So, what I'm talking about here is, I'd like to bring this text out just a little bit more. And I don't want to just completely obliterate the background, so some transparent white back here will make these pop just a little bit more. And by doing it as a gradient, we won't be affecting the entire image, just here. If you do it right, it's not even something you really notice, but it does help the readability, so let's get started. I'm going to select the Simplified Layer, and then we'll create a new layer right above it. Let's call this fade. And I'm going to go ahead and use the Gradient Tool here. Right now it's set for the foreground/background color, which isn't important, 'cause we're going to edit in place here…
