Comparing script writing to home building

I equate the information of video production process to that of home building and in this movie I'll attempt to illustrate what I mean. A video starts with a script, just like a home starts with a blueprint. You wouldn't want to build a home without a blueprint, you shouldn't want to shoot a video without a script. Things on a video shoot will change and evolve. Locations, actors, weather. But you have to have a starting point and that's the script. To continue the home building analogy, the first thing that you do after you have your script is to shoot. After you have your blueprint for your home, then you pour the slab or you build the foundation. In my part of the world, homes are built on cement slabs, but in the video this is where you do all of your shooting. You shoot everything that you need and may be even more than you think you need because you just don't know what you're going to need when you get into the editing room.
