Are slides necessary?

- I have two questions for you. The first is, would your talk be better as a written report? This can happen, for example, if it's full of detail that we need to study. If the answer is yes, I suggest we skip the meeting and just mail it out. If the answer is no, then my second question is, can you speak without slides? This may sound funny coming from a designer, but I'm not a big fan of slides. We're learning about slides today, but they're not easy to make, they take time to do well. If they're not done well, well, we've all suffered through bad PowerPoint. So, can you speak without them? Seriously, pretend the projector is broken. Just talk to us, tell us about your thing. I'm pretty sure you can get us at least interested in something that you're interested in, especially if you're passionate about it. Passion is contagious, and it would be less work.
