- [Teacher] So we're in InDesign and we're looking at a poster for a campus lecture. The man we're looking at is going to be presenting on the topic of jazz and I'd like to show you how this poster was created by deconstructing it a little bit for you and touch on some of the points we've touched earlier on having a focal point and thinking boldly and so on. So let's get started. This began with this photo, this is the biggest asset we have on this poster, and the thing about a poster is that you need it to be visible from two distances. You want to be able to see it from across the quad and you also want to be able to read it up close, so you're really designing it for two viewing distances, which means you need at least one thing and maybe two things really big and really bold on the page that are identifiable from a distance and then you can have the other small detail not be seen from a distance but just be readable up close.
