One clear typeface

- For most presentations you'll use one clear type face of medium weight. Size it for the back of the room. To gauge this, either zoom out or step back from your computer. Reduce long thoughts to just a few words. Put more than one sentence on your slide only if you plan on reading it with your audience, or you'll lose them. Words, once read, are boring, so if your slides are mainly verbal, keep them moving. Here's the rule when it comes to type. Every difference in style, size, color, and position conveys a difference in meaning. Bold says something different from light. Big says something different from small. This style says something different from this style. Type here is different from type here. If you make differences, be sure they're design decisions and not accidental. For example, pin your type in position so it doesn't jump around from one slide to the next. You want this, not this. That's accidental difference. Your first decision will be what type style to use.
