- Google "Power Point Template," and you'll get pages of slide templates adorned with lines and bubbles and patterns and colors and pictures, and sometimes even bunnies. All of which, I'll just say this upfront, are worthless. None of it says anything about you or to you or for you. Templates like these exist because of a misunderstanding about design, and that's that they confuse design with decoration. Your slides are not a cake to decorate. A cake tastes the same, whether it's decorated or not. Design is different. Design is about communication. It's about planning. It's about choosing the right tools to tell your story.
