Using Google Auction Insights you will be able to see who you are bidding against, and the position they are ‘at' when ads appear. You can then increase bids to increase the position (or look to improve CTR of the ads)/ Also, using AdWords Bid Simulator you will see the potential effect of changing the bid e.g. losing 10 clicks by decreasing the bid 10%, or what would happen if you spend more. Both aspects of AdWords should help inform you on changes to make to your campaigns.
