Join Drew Falkman for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the exercise files, part of PHP 5.4 New Features.
If you are a Premium Member of the lynda.com online training library, or if you're watching this tutorial on a DVD- ROM, you have access to the exercise files used throughout this title. Inside the zip file, you'll see a number of PHP files. In most units, we'll create these from scratch, so these will be the completed version of all the files we create throughout the course. In a couple of instances, there may be some files that you will copy and paste directly into your HTML directory that you can use, and it will walk you through how the code works.
If you're a Monthly Member or Annual Member of lynda.com, you don't have access to the exercise files, but you can follow along from scratch with your own assets. Why don't we get started?
- Installing PHP 5.4 on Mac and Windows
- Using the built-in web server
- Monitoring upload progress
- Using the high-precision timer
- Using class member access on instantiation
- Introducing horizontal reuse
