- [Instructor] After installing Apache and PHP the next step is to install MySQL. MySQL is completely free to download and install from Oracle. Go to dev.mysql.com/downloads. I'm going to download two components. First I need the server itself. MySQL Community Server. There's only a 64-bit version available and that's fine because that's all we have for operating systems on Mac these days, and you'll find it available in a few different packages. I recommend downloading the DMG Archive file, and I've already downloaded that to my desktop. While you're at it, go back another step and also download MySQL Workbench. This is a graphical user interface application that will let you manage your server from your computer. So I've downloaded both of these files and in this video I'm going to just install the server.
