- You can download MySQL for Windows from this website. At MySQL.com/downloads. You'll see a recommended download that's an MSI Installer file. And there are other downloads down at the bottom, but you'll find the easiest process here by click on the go to download page link. There are two versions of the MSI Installer. Both 32 bits, but those will work fine on 64 bit Windows installations. The first one is a smaller file size and will download everything you need during the installation process. The larger file contains everything you need already bundled. And that's what I've downloaded to my desktop. I'll start the installation by double-clicking on it. And if you see user account control dialogues, click yes to continue. There are a number of different configurations to choose from, but I like using the developer default. It adds a few more items that I may not need, but I know I'll need everything for working with…
