- [Instructor] In this course, I describe multiple ways of installing Apache MySQL and PHP, but you only need one of these combinations for your particular installation. Here's some factors to take into account when you decide what to install for yourself. First of all, you'll need the software for your particular operating system, if you want to install individual components, that is, you want to get Apache, MySQL, and PHP separately, on Windows, you'll download these software products from the vendors who make them, or from open-source organizations that package them. On macOS, Apache and PHP are already included, but you'll need to get MySQL from the vendor, that is, from Oracle, but on Linux, you'll be able to download everything from the command line using what's known as a package manager.
