The RSS Feed is one of my favorite features and also one of the easiest ones to master. The RSS Feed will automatically update Outlook with the latest post from your favorite blogs. Best of all, you can search through the posts in the same way that you search through your Inbox or contact list. We find the RSS Feeds right down below our Inbox. When I click on it, you can see that I currently don't have any blog posts, but I want you to make notes of the little orange icon. Now what we're going to do is we're going to take a trip out to the Internet, and we're going to go to one of our favorite blog spots.
In this case, we're going to the lynda.com blog. And what you're going to look for is that same icon, which you can see right here, that little orange icon symbol, and this is where we can subscribe to the RSS Feed. So what I'm going to do now is click on that icon, and nothing really exciting happens yet, other than the fact that I now have kind of a cryptic URL up there. And what I need to do is copy that. So I'm going to click, which highlights that entire URL.
Then I can either hold down my Ctrl key and hit the later C, or you prefer, I can do a right-click and Copy. Now armed with that information, I'm going to head back to Outlook, and I'm going to go back to my RSS Feeds area. I'm going to right-click, and I'm going to add a new RSS Feed. Now if you really want to do this the hard way, you could simply type in that URL, or you can click in that box, hold down your Ctrl key, and hit the letter V to paste it in.
Click Add and answer Yes to the prompt, and in a moment you'll start to see all of the blog posts. Now these works exactly like e-mail, and you can click on any of the posts and read it in the Preview Pane, or you can double-click on one of the posts to open it up. Now just like with Email, you can search through the blogs. I heard that there was a really cool article on virtual choirs, and I'd like to see that. But I'm not sure which article it appears in.
So I'm going to click at the top of the blogs and type in simply choir, and as I type, sure enough, Outlook was able to find the article that I wanted. If you want to remove a blog, that's an easy thing to do, as well. You can simply right-click on the blog, and click Delete Folder, answer Yes to the prompt, and the blog is gone. By adding your favorite blog sites to Outlook, updated posts will be delivered directly to Mailbox.
Not only will you never have to worry about missing a new post, you'll have one convenient spot to access all the blogs that you read.

Q: The author covers Quick Parts in detail in Chapter 4, but doesn't mention how to delete them. How do I delete Quick Parts?
A: To delete a Quick Part, go to the Insert tab on the Ribbon. Select the Quick Parts dropdown menu and right-click on the Quick Part. Choose Organize and Delete.
The Organize and Delete dialog box will open. Select the Quick Part and clock Delete.
Note: The Organize and Delete option is selectable only in rich text editing mode. If you are composing an email in plain text mode, the option will appear grayed out.
