In this video, Jess Stratton shows users how to change miscellaneous options in Outlook, such as setting work hours, adding an additional time zone to the calendar, changing new mail behavior, and removing the weather panel.
- [Instructor] There are a lot of options that you can change in Outlook. I'm gonna show you how to get into options and I do recommend checking these settings periodically to see if anything's changed. Click file on the top left hand side of the screen and choose options. From here, you can go through each of the tabs on the left hand side. You'll start with some general options. If I move onto mail, there's some notable changes in here. For example, clicking signatures if you need to make changes to your signature file.
You can also make changes to the behavior when getting new messages. In the calendar section, you can change your work start and end times, and the days. This is useful for when people are looking you up to see your free and busy time. You can change the default reminder time for calendars and you can even add an additional time zone. If you don't like the weather option on the calendar, you can uncheck it here and it won't show up at all. You can go through and make changes to your contacts, tasks, and the advanced area, there's some more things that you can change.
For example, you can choose to start Outlook in a different place other than the inbox. You can also have it empty the deleted items folder when you exit. So take some time, go through and see all that you can really do with Outlook. When you're done, click OK and you'll be brought right back to where you were.
