- Spam and junk mail are unavoidable parts of having an e-mail account. Here's how you can deal with junk mail in Outlook. Select the e-mail that you want to mark as junk and you can either right click on the e-mail, select junk, block sender. Or from the home ribbon tab, you can also select junk, and then block sender. The sender of the message will be added to the block senders list and the message will be moved into the junk e-mail folder. Depending on who your e-mail provider is, the folder may be called something different depending on who your e-mail provider is. Its commonly called junk, junk mail, or spam. In this case, I have a Gmail account so the folder's called spam. Let's go in this folder, just to make sure there's nothing else in there that's really not spam. Here's something in here that's very clearly, not spam. I'll right click the e-mail, select junk and then I'll select not junk.
