Outlook power tip #2: You don't need to open the Contacts folder or the People app to find people in Microsoft Outlook. This video demonstrates finding contacts using the Search People box on the home tab of the ribbon. Simply enter some information—first name, last name, company, or department—about the person you're looking for. Outlook will search in your contacts list and your global address book.
- [Instructor] If you're looking for someone, you do not need to switch to the People app or even click the peak above the People to find them. If you're searching for people, there's a search box right here. I'm in mail, and I'm going to search for someone. I'm going to search for our CFO Sally Kerner. There she is, and I can click and open her card right here. Now, beyond that, I can also go view her LinkedIn profile, and here she is, CFO of Kinetico. I can connect to her in LinkedIn if I wasn't already connected. That's pretty sweet, and if I wish to, I can pin this contact card here so that I can work with it a little bit as I move about my screen. But when I'm all done, I can simply close Sally's card knowing that I can quickly and easily search for someone right here in the search box.
