In Outlook, sorting and filtering let you analyze and work with messages in context. In this video, learn how to sort and filter based on one or multiple criteria.
- [Instructor] Searching and filtering in Outlook … really are the same except you can save a filter … as part of a view where as if we created a search, … that search typically goes away when we're done using it. … To filter, let's go to the home tab and go to the find area … and note that we can filter based on items that are read … or unread, items that have attachments, … items that were received in a particular date range, … specific categories, whether they're flagged, … whether they're important, sent only to me or CC:'d to me, … items that are expiring soon and there are even more filters … that we can create and it takes us to the instant search box … and open search when I make that choice. … Let's go back to the home tab, however, and apply a filter … that I only want to see emails that have attachments. … So here are my emails that have attachments. … One from Karen … and several from Microsoft … that have my billing statements in them. … Notice that filter is leveraging instant search …
