- [Instructor] In addition to opening shared calendars, I can also create brand new calendars of my own and share them out. This is useful if I want to create a calendar for something that's completely separate than my regular calendar. For example, a personal calendar for family appointments or if you're running a nonprofit. Or a committee meeting with your company. To create a new calendar, from the home ribbon tab in the calendar, choose open calendar and then click create new blank calendar. I can give my calendar a name. In this case I'll call it nonprofit. I'll click to make sure it's being put in the calendar and then I'll click okay. My calendar's created and I'll place a check box next to it on the left so that I can see it in the view. I can right click on my new calendar and change the color of it if I want to. I can also choose to overlay it on top of mine.
