Adding an IMAP or POP account manually

- Sometimes, when you try to add an account automatically using just your email address and password, it doesn't work. If you're sure you have the right email address and password, it could just mean that Outlook doesn't recognize the settings to automatically configure your email account for you. In cases like this, we can just add the account manually. There's some things you'll have to have ready and you can find them on the website of your email provider. In this case, I'm adding a personal Gmail account so I found the settings from the Gmail help online. It's also good to first check and see if your email provider even supports POP3 or IMAP. For example, in a Gmail account, you first have to log in via the web and enable IMAP access before you can use your Gmail account with a program like Outlook. In Gmail, I'm going to choose the gear icon on the top right hand side and choose Settings. From here, I'll click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. In the IMAP Access section, I need…
