Encrypting RMAN Backups
- [Instructor] RMAN or Recovery Manager, Oracle's main physical backup and recovery technology, also supports creating encrypted backups. This is extremely important as RMAN is often used as the primary backup and recovery tool for most Oracle DBAs. RMAN supports three methods of encryption: transparent mode encryption, password mode encryption and dual mode encryption. We'll see all three in action in this video. So let's start by connection RMAN to our Oracle instance. I'll type RMAN target backslash. If you are unfamiliar with RMAN or RMAN backup script syntax, then please be sure to check out my Oracle12C backup and recovery course that is also available in the content library.
