- [Instructor] Throughout this course we will be using a demo virtual machine running Oracle Database 12c for the hands on exercises. The specific virtual machine I'll be using is the Oracle Database App Development Virtual Machine provided by Oracle and which can be downloaded from oracle.com as we will see in a moment. You can choose to use the Oracle App Development Virtual Machine or another Oracle 12c database of your choice. However, if you choose to use another Oracle database, you will need to manually load the human resources or HR demo schema, which we will be using for the hands on exercises throughout this course. While there are instructions online on how to manually load the HR schema to your own custom Oracle database, this process isn't covered in this course, and that's why I recommend to use the Oracle App Development Virtual Machine.
