Transfer a schematic to a PCB

- [Instructor] Now it's time to transfer your design from a conceptual schematic to a physical representation of the board. That's done through a netlist from OrCAD Capture to OrCAD PCB Editor. In OrCAD Capture click on your project tab and select your design file. Next, go to Tools, Create Netlist. Usually you may find this unchecked, but you want to check this option, Create or Update PCB Editor Board. And your netlist files directory will be allegro. Be sure to check Open Board in OrCAD PCB Editor and set your output board file to myproject.prd or whatever you want to name your project. Go ahead and click OK. If you set everything up correctly you should get no warnings and no errors in your session log. All right no warnings or errors. You know it's done correctly when you can go to PCB Editor and choose Place, Components Manually, checkmark Components by Reference Designator, click Hide, and see if you can place all the components in your schematic design to PCB.
