- When creating new Titles, there is another option that will give you, not only a head start with the look and feel of your new Title, but also with the framework and the structure. It's called the Title Wizard. We're going to take a look at it now. There's two ways to get to it. If you're on your home screen, like I am here, you can click Create New Title. We already know that's going to launch the publisher window and then a dialog to Open Title. From Open Title, we can create new Titles, like we did earlier, but you'll also notice a tab for the Title Wizard.
Give that a click, and you can see that's the beginning stages of the selection process for creating our new Title using the Wizard. We can click Cancel here because there is another way. If you're already in the publisher window, you're not at your homepage, let's say you're at the Home tab and nothing's open at this time, you can always go back to the File tab, select Create New Title and access the Title Wizard from here. When you give that a click, you can see we get the Open Title dialog but we're already at the Title Wizard tab.
Now we have a number of options to help us get started. Just select Blank Title and you can see it creates a blank title, populated though with pages and chapters as you specify. That's the head start with the framework and the structure of your new Title. You could go to Standard e-Learning Course. Take a look at the thumbnail. You can see it's using some themes, some colors. This one creates a Title that's commonly used for e-Learning projects. It will have course components and structures suitable for publishing to a learning management system.
If that's what you plan on doing, this might be a good option. And then we have some others with different looks and feels. Here we're creating a Title with a color shaded border in the top, bottom, and sides. If we go to Reflection, for example, you can see this has four optional color themes and we can build chapter name buttons as well. A lot of these will give us a nice head start depending on the type of Title we want to create. Let's go to Shaded Border Presentation and click OK.
The next step in the Wizard is to give our Title a new name. I'm going to call this Sales Training. If I try to choose the location, I'm not going to be able to. It's automatically going to My Title, so we can move it later and we'll talk about that but if you try to click this drop-down, you can see, you really don't have the choice. It's going into your Titles, so click Next. Now, how would we like to place the borders on this Title? You can see Top and Bottom is selected but if we click the drop-down, we could go with Both Sides or any of the other options that you see here.
I like Top and Bottom. Let's click Next. Now we get to choose the aspect ratio. Page Size comes first, and you can see it's measured in pixels. 785 by 600, maybe you want to go 1024 by 768. Go ahead and type that in, 1024, click in the Height. You might want to double click to select everything that's there so you don't have to delete it first. Type in 768. I get to choose the Border Height for the top and the bottom.
Again, in pixels. The default, 100 and 55. Navigation buttons are by default Small Buttons but if you click the drop-down, you can go with larger buttons or no buttons at all if you don't want to use navigation buttons for going backwards and forward. I'm going to go for Large Buttons to see what that looks like. You can see the Border Color is that default Navy Blue but click the drop-down to choose a different color. So perhaps Dark Green would look better for our company. Click Next to move on to the next step. Here's where we get to choose now the number of chapters and pages.
You could see Pages is selected. We could organize our title simply in the pages and then choose the number of pages to help us get started. If you want Chapters though, you can choose Chapters and Pages. The number of Chapters now appears here. I think maybe three to get started would be good. I'm going to use the down arrow to bump it down to three. You can see an overview of the structure and what that's going to look like. We can include a title at the top of each page as well or deselect that if you don't want it.
I'm going to leave it there, and click Next. Because I chose Chapters, I get to name my chapters now. Maybe the first chapter is simply a welcome chapter. When I click Next, I'm accepting the default of two pages in the chapter. I'm not sure exactly how many pages I'll need but that's a good head start. Chapter 2, we get to name it. How about Organization. I'll leave it at two pages, and Next.
And maybe Chapter 3 is going to be our Products chapter. We'll discuss products and there's definitely more than two, so I'm going to bump this up to four pages and that's the last step. When I click Finish, it's actually going to create my new Title. Look over here on the left-hand side, you'll notice in the Title Explorer, I have action buttons. There's the navigation buttons, Title Text, there's my Welcome chapter with two pages. I can expand Organization to see those two pages.
And Products has four pages. That's a really nice head start thanks to the Title Wizard here in Lectora Online. Let's go up to the close button to close up this window and return to our home screen. You'll notice that Sales Training now appears on your Recent list.
