Locating content with a fast search

There has never been a faster way to find content and get to the most often used pages in your notebook, thanks to instant search. Search results now appear as you type them in OneNote 2010. We are going to check it out using our Conference notebook here. Now instant search is available by default so long as your Windows installation has the Microsoft Windows Desktop Search component installed. To check this out go to Backstage view by clicking the File tab, then click Options. Next, select Advanced from the Navigation pane and scroll down to the Search section.

Now if the Install Instant Search button is available to you, you are going to need to install it to make use of instant search. But by default, it should be dimmed like mine is here so you know that instant search is going to work. Click Cancel and we are back to our notebook.
