Learn how to create, move, and delete a page within a notebook section.
- [Instructor] New pages can be created within a Notebook section. The Front Desk section is currently displayed. This contains two pages, Recruiting and Training. To add a new page, go to the bottom of this page area, and select the plus Page command. A new page appears in the page panel and it's labeled Untitled page. Within the page to the right, that's the untitled page that was just created is a blinking cursor, and underneath this is the date and time stamp of when this page was created.
The blinking cursor is indicating that you can type in this area to rename this page. Let's go ahead and do that. (typing) Then press Enter. The label for this page appears within the page panel as well. Next, let's go to the Finance section and move a page. We need to move Occupancy Data to the Front Desk section. We can do this in a couple of ways. One way is to press and hold if you're working from a touch-enabled device or if you're working with a mouse left-click and hold.
And then drag that page to the desired section you'd like to move it to. As you hover over that section, you will see the page list switch. This is now displaying the pages that are part of this. Release the mouse or release the press on the touch device and it will move that page to that section. Now, we're viewing the Front Desk section and here's Occupancy Data that was just moved. If we navigate back to Finance, you'll notice that that page no longer exists here. Another way that you can also move or copy pages, we just worked with a way to move a page, but a choice for move or copy is with a right-click over the page.
You will find a Move or Copy menu. And from this menu we can still choose to move this page to another section of the same Notebook. So these are all the sections that are part of the Landon Projects Notebook. If you'd like to move or copy a page out to a different Notebook that you currently have open, work with the arrow key or pointing to the left, to select a different Notebook. For this example, we'll stay in the same Notebook. Let's move this page to our Front Desk section, but instead of moving it, let's make a copy of it.
What a copy is going to do is it's going to keep the original in the section where it resides, but make a duplicate copy of it and place it within Front Desk. Okay. So let's go back to Front Desk. Notice the sections that we have here. And now let's compare to Finance. Annual Expenses is in both places. Finance, back to Front Desk, Annual Expenses in Front Desk. If you need to delete a page from a section, right-click over the page, select Delete Page, and it's moved to the Deleted Items.
Deleted Items is found on the View ribbon. Please select the View ribbon and then select Deleted Notes. Here you can see the Annual Expenses page, that has been deleted. Deleted notes will be permanently removed after 60 days, as it is indicated here on the notification bar at the top. If you'd like to permanently delete an individual note, right-click over it and then select Delete Permanently. If you'd like to empty everything from Deleted Notes at once, go to the right of Deleted Notes, select the dropdown arrow, then select Empty Deleted Notes.
You can also disable this history by checking the box that you see here. For now, we're going to say no to this, so that we're not disabling that history. That also takes us back out of the Deleted Notes view. That's how you create, move, copy, and delete pages.
