Using the Calendar with shortcut keys

It's great to be able to manipulate the calendar with your keyboard rather than using the mouse. I will give you a variety of shortcut keys to speed things up. And don't forget, all the keyboard shortcuts I demonstrate are listed in the Quick Reference document in the exercise files. But first is to jump to a date. If you need to jump specifically to a date, hit Ctrl+G. This pops up a dialog box asking you which date to go. This is especially useful when you need to go to specific date far in the future, like April 1.

Note that in this window just, like many others, I can also type a phrase. For example, first Tuesday in May, or just simply today. When viewing your calendar in day or week mode, you can change the viewing by an entire day at a time or an entire week at a time. Pressing the Left and Right Arrow keys will cycle left and right through the calendar day by day. Holding down Alt and pressing up or down will jump week by week.
