Join Gini von Courter for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the Action Items app, part of Outlook Web App (OWA) 2013 Essential Training.
…The Action Items app is tied to flagging messages in your inbox.…When Microsoft OWA delivers a message, it scans it to look for particular words…and phrases that might lead one to believe that an action item was being called for.…So if I take a look at an item and it…has an Action Items app button here, I can click it.…And it will say, we think we found an action item.…Says,…I know this isn't your department but can…you please send some samples to our contact.…And that just let's you know, yep, this is an action item.…
I need to do something with this.…And you just click Follow Up and you flag that item.…It's all done just like that.…Remember that when I click out of this message and go someplace else,…and come back to the message, I don't see that action item writ large anymore.…However, if I click it again, it will be here,…and I can choose to mark it as complete or not.…And if I go to my tasks list, you'll notice that, that request for branding is…right here, flagged in the same way as the other items that I flagged showed up.…
