Playing a video in a shape

For maximum wow factor, consider playing your video inside a shape. You can mask any video media with one of PowerPoint's built-in shapes, so that instead of a rectangle, it plays inside a diamond or heart or other appropriate form. Click on one of your videos. I'm on slide six and then go up to the Video Tools Format Ribbon. Near the center of the ribbon is a button for Video Shape, click on it. From the dropdown gallery, find the shape that matches the concept being expressed in your video. This is one of those techniques where you don't want to be gratuitous.

If it's possible to enhance the viewers understanding by choosing a relevant shape, it will make your slideshow that much more effective. Some of these shapes may cut off your media though, so try and find one with a large center area. For example, I'd love to use this heart shape but watch what happens to the owner's face.
