Join Gini von Courter for an in-depth discussion in this video Marking messages as read or unread, part of Outlook Web App (OWA) 2013 Essential Training.
…Many of us use the status of a message, whether it's read or unread, as…an indication that we still need to read it again and perhaps do something with it.…So if I have a message, for example, this…message that's already been read and I want to mark…it as unread, as brand new, I can simply…select the message and click the mark as unread link.…Conversely, if I have a message that is…unread, and I want to say, no, I've read this, I can simply click mark it as read.…
And so, this is what's called a toggle.…It's either read, or it's unread, and I can apply it to…one message if I wish, or I could choose a series of messages.…And notice as soon as I select more than one message, I can say…I want to mark all of these as unread, or mark all of them as read.…Now if I have unread messages in a folder,…there's a number that appears after the folder.…The folder name is bolded, and that lets me…know that I have three unread messages in my inbox.…If I mark these as read, now there are no unread messages in my inbox.…
That's how this works. Easy enough to do.…
