Launching Word and touring the interface
- Before we begin to use the many powerful features and functions of Word 2016 we should get comfortable in our environment. So let's begin with a tour of the user interface, beginning with what you see when you first launch Word 2016. If you're following along with me, go ahead and launch it. You can see from the left-hand side I have quick access to files I've worked on recently and there's a number to choose from here. I simply have to select one of them to go back to it quickly. That means I don't have to go browsing for it's location. However, if I don't see the file I want to open on this list I can click Open Other Documents, go browsing things like my OneDrive, or files that are stored locally on my own hard drive. Now, over here on the top, right-hand corner, if you're already logged in to your Microsoft account, you'll see your credentials up here. Now if you launch Word and you're not logged in, you may be prompted to login at this point. Once you do, you'll arrive at this…
