Hiding the sound icon

You may find there are times when you don't want the audience to even see the speaker icon on the screen. Here's how to hide it. The first way is a classic from the early days of PowerPoint. Just drag the icon off the screen into the gray area. The speaker won't even be seen on the slide during your presentation but it will function normally. Another old school method used to be the hide the speaker icon behind another graphic, but there's no need for either of those workarounds anymore.

A better way to hide it in PowerPoint 2010 is to click on your sound to select it and then go up to the Audio tools Playback tab. In the center there are series of Audio Options. Find the option that says Hide during Show and click the checkmark. Now when it played the slideshow though, I've got a problem. My sound will be hidden so I can't click on it to start the slip.
