- [Instructor] If you ever find that you need…to use the images, videos, or audio clips…from a PowerPoint presentation,…but you don't have access to the original files…you can employ a neat little trick to extract…all the media content from the presentation.…This trick makes use of the fact that a PowerPoint file,…is really just a zip file containing all the smaller files…that make up the presentation,…and we just need to make Windows see it as a zip file…instead of as a PowerPoint file.…Now first I want to make sure we can see the extensions…at the end of our file names.…If you can see a .pptx at the end…of your PowerPoint file then you're all set.…If you don't see them, which I don't in this case,…you have to enable them.…
So here on Windows 10 we right click the Start menu,…to go to Control Panel.…Here I'll go to Appearance and Personalization…and then File Explorer Options.…If you're on an older version of Windows…this will be Folder Options.…Then go to the View tab and here uncheck,…Hide extensions for known file types.…
