Create an appointment by selecting a time: Outlook 2016: Time Management with Calendar and Tasks

You don't need to use a form to create a new appointment or event, you can lay out the time directly in the Outlook calendar. First display a view with the right level of detail (days, hours). If necessary, right click the timescale and choose a shorter time increment. Drag to select the hours or days; type to enter the title of the appointment or event. If you wish to add more detail, double click the item to open it.
