Join Gini von Courter for an in-depth discussion in this video Binding the schema nodes to the controls, part of Word 2010: Forms.
Having created our schema for our Word template we're now ready to bind each of…the nodes here back to a content control in our form.…So I'm going to switch to Bind View and note that when I open each of these up,…we have these nice containers that say these two nodes are companyinfo, these…five are part of our serviceinfo.…In order to do binding what you do is you first select the item. It doesn't matter…if you double-click it. Nothing happens, so it's a fine thing to do. Grab its…icon and go drop it on the corresponding tag.…
So here's our submitdate date picker and I'm going to drop it right there.…When I do there's a piece of XPath that gets written that says how you would get here.…You go to the root in the schema and then to submitdate.…I'm going to double-click on legalname and do the same thing with it and drop it…on legalname over here in my content controls. Double-click shortname, grab it,…and drop it on company short name, and so on.…So I'm just going to bind each of these, make sure they're in the right place. There we go!…
