Join Gini von Courter for an in-depth discussion in this video Applying a filter to email, part of Outlook Web App (OWA) 2013 Essential Training.
…When I want to be able to find items in…my inbox or in any particular folder, that meet criteria…or that are tagged in a particular way, then I'm…going to use the filter buttons up here at the top.…So, by default, I see all of my messages in…my inbox, but now I've marked some of them as unread.…And when I choose Unread those are the messages I see.…When I choose Flagged…then I see only the messages than I'm flagged on and then the other…choice of filter is To Me, and what that means is exactly what it says.…
The message was addressed to me or in this case, addressed directly to Mark.…So if I choose To Me, then I'm seeing messages where I wasn't copied.…I wasn't even blind copied. They were send to me.…Maybe to other people as well,…but sent to me.…And the assumption there is, that when a message…is addressed to you, you're going to reply to it.…So this is another way for me to think about how I organize my work.…I could take a look and say, okay, it's…the start of the day, here are all the messages.…Let me take a look first at those that were sent to me.…
