- [Male Narrator] This and other courses in the Office 365 admin track can be taken without any prior administrative experience. Most all the tools are web-based and are, therefore, not specific to one browser or one operating system. Of course, we're looking at a Microsoft product here, but about 90% of the Office 365 admin tasks can actually be done from Macintosh running Safari. That said, there are two things that will probably help you in both the course and in other administrative areas, and that is a passing understanding of the Domain Name System, or DNS, and sometimes Domain Name System, DNS, is sometimes referred to as Domain Name Servers, so that's one thing.
The other thing is a familiarity with something called Windows PowerShell, which provides the ability to perform admin tasks by typing rather than by clicking. There are great courses within our learning library covering both of these topics. In addition, this course builds on the topics discussed in the Office 365: Provision Office course. That course isn't a prerequisite for taking this one, but I will be working in the Office 365 tenant that was provisioned in that course, and, if you were following along in that course, then certainly you'll be able to do the same, and, if right now you're asking yourself, "Well, what are you talking about? "What is an Office 365 tenant anyway," then I highly recommend that you start with that Provision Office course.
As a last note, you can always just watch the lessons and take notes, but, if you're following along, you'll need global administrative access to your Office 365 tenant.
This course is ideal for any network administrator working with Office 365 and will serve as a valuable prep course for administrators wishing to learn the skills necessary to pass the exam.
