In this lesson, Sharon shows you how to uninstall Office, first by using the Control Panel, and then by using the Easy Fix tool if Office 365 cannot be uninstalled via the Control Panel.
- [Instructor] There may be times when you have to uninstall Office from a PC. This is typically due to an application failing to start properly. Even after you have tried to update it and repair it. There are two ways that you can uninstall Office from a PC. The first is through the Control Panel. I'm going to go ahead and show you that to start off with. I'm going to go ahead and launch Control Panel. Navigate to Programs. Programs and Features. And then you'll be in Uninstall and Change a Program. From here, you can go ahead select the Office 365 application.
And you can right click and click on Install. Or you can scroll up to the top and click the Uninstall button there. Next, you'll be prompted, Do you really want to uninstall this program? For our demonstration today we're going to go ahead and close this window. We're not going to uninstall it from here. I'm going to go ahead and close down the Control Panel. Next, we have an Easy Fix button that is available from the Office Install web page. And you can see that here. You will use the Easy Fix button to uninstall Office.
If, for some reason, the uninstall failed using the Control Panel method that we just stepped through. I'm going to go ahead, download the button. You see the button has now downloaded. You can go ahead and launch it. The Easy Fix button will now step you through the process to uninstall Microsoft Office from this system. We're going to go ahead and click Next. The application will now try to detect any issues that you may have with Office 365. And resolve any problems if it can.
Next, we have the option completely remove all Office apps and settings from your PC. Yes or no. I'm going to go ahead and click Yes. And now Microsoft Office will be uninstalled. Please note, this will take several minutes. After several minutes your Office applications will have been uninstalled. And you must restart your computer for these changes to take effect. After that reboot, you can go ahead and reinstall the applications as you previously have before.
