- [Instructor] With the range of malware that can attack devices and services, it's worth reviewing the symptoms of a malware infection. This is important, since often, there will be no obvious physical notification that a device or system has been infected. Often, the only way to detect malware is to compare an infected machine with a known clean machine. You can create a baseline of what constitutes a healthy system, and then use this benchmark as a comparison when checking for suspected malware. Typical malware symptoms include: Poor system performance which is different to normal levels, such as poor performance when connected to the internet, or longer startup times. Instances where the system or browser crashes unexpectedly, or the browser's default home or default search pages have been changed. Often, malware will try to change your behavior, and you'll start to see unexpected pop-ups or new toolbars on your…
