Recovering deleted cloud-stored files
- [Narrator] Let's now review how to recover deleted files in SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. As we've already discussed, OneDrive for Business deleted items are stored in the first stage recycle bin. And if they're deleted from this area, they'll then be moved to the second stage recycle bin. End users can restore items from only the first-stage recycle bin and they can do this to their original location. However, administrators are the only people that can restore items from the second stage bin. When restored by an administrator, the deleted items will appear in the original end users location. The top level steps for a user to recover deleted items is that they'll open SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business, navigate to the recycle bin and then select the item or all items and choose Restore.
