DLP policies stop confidential data from being shared, parachuting data flow and restricting access. Let's look into this in more detail. In order to protect data, you should first identify the data that is the most sensitive and needs the most protection. Office 365 Data Lost Prevention policies come preloaded with data definitions for sensitive data including financial data, medical and health data. These definitions vary according to each country's legislations. So when you create a new DLP policy, you'll be asked to select the relevant country so the correct constraints can be applied.
