- [Narrator] Data loss prevention policies help you to identify data, prevent data sharing and monitor data. DLP policies stop confidential data from being shared, parachuting data flow and restricting access. Let's look into this in more detail. In order to protect data, you should first identify the data that is the most sensitive and needs the most protection. Office 365 Data Lost Prevention policies come preloaded with data definitions for sensitive data including financial data, medical and health data. These definitions vary according to each country's legislations. So when you create a new DLP policy, you'll be asked to select the relevant country so the correct constraints can be applied. At the bottom of the screen, the GDPR articles that are supported by this feature are shown. You can also use DLP to create labels or tacks. For example, you could create a label called confidential.
