Network name resolution issues

- [Narrator] With a simple network, with just a few dozen devices linked to each other, devices can shout at each other using network broadcasts. This advertises their presence to each other and allows devices to communicate. However, as a network becomes larger and perhaps increases to multiple networks, such as a wide-area network, and includes thousands of devices and servers, then we need to use DNS for our network name resolution. DNS or the Domain Name System uses DNS servers to hold databases of computer names crossed-referenced with IP addresses. This allows the local DNS agent on our client machine to look up the correct IP address for a device, such as a web server running a website. Since humans work with names and not numbers, we need a DNS server to provide the correct IP address.
