- [Instructor] When you have a fully cloud-hosted email implementation, for example, with Office 365, Microsoft will perform full spam scanning and filtering for you. Office 365 previously referred to this feature as content filtering, whereas it's now called spam filtering. Exchange Online provides filtering on both your inbound and outbound email. All email that's routed through Office 365 based on your MX record resolution will be scanned and passed through to Exchange Online. For viruses contained within a message then the email will either be deleted or quarantined. And if spam is detected then the anti-spam feature will place the email in the junk folder or it will be quarantined. When messages reach the inbound spam filtering engine messages flow through a range of protection options where they're checked against a dynamic checklist.
