Create a new storage volume
- [Instructor] In most cases, when you create an EC2 instance, you'll find that only one volume gets associated with that instance by default. Fortunately, there is a way to create an additional volume and associate it with the instance. So, before we go ahead and create a volume, let's take a look at an instance. Here I am, on the EC2 Dashboard, and what I'm going to do is click on Running Instances. Wnd when I do that, you can see my instance, and, if I look down here, you can see the root device. So this is the volume that's currently attached to my instance. So, with that said, let's go ahead and create a new volume. Before I do, there's one thing that we need to make note of. If you take a look at the instance itself, you can see its Availability Zone. In this case, the Availability Zone is us-east-1b. Now the reason why I point this out is because, if we are eventually going to attach our new volume to the instance, then we'll have to create that new volume in the same…
